Kent Getzlaff
Kent Getzlaff became the 3rd Head Coach in Woodbury High School Boys Basketball history in May, 2014 and is entering his 23rd year coaching high school and college basketball.
Coach Getzlaff, with a record of 113-100, and his staff are excited for the 2024 Summer. During Getzlaff's 10 seasons his teams have been the Suburban East Conference Champions 3 times. His teams have finished in the Top 3 in the Suburban East 6 out of 10 years. Coach Getzlaff has been the Suburban East Conference Coach of the Year three times, 2015, 2016, 2021 and also the Section 4AAAA Coach of the Year in 2015, 2016 and 2019, 2021

Sammy Ricks
Sammy Ricks just finished his 10th season as a varsity assistant after spending two seasons on the staff at Park High School. Sammy comes to Woodbury after a terrific playing career in high school at St. Paul Johnson and college at North Dakota School of Science and Concordia University, St. Paul. Sammy played in 3 state tournaments for legendary coach Vern Simmons at Johnson and finished his career starting over 30 games in two season at Concordia.
Sammy is a Cultural Liaison for District 833, spending his time at Woodbury High School and Cottage Grove Middle School, mentoring many of our students. Sammy lives in Woodbury with wife Yvonne and daughters Daelyn (13), Taryn (9) and Jordyn (6),

Greg Schmitz
Coach "Schmitty" has spent 22 seasons coaching basketball at Woodbury under Scott Swansson and Kent Getzlaff. He's been coaching football at Woodbury for the past 21 seasons. Schmitty is a staple in the Woodbury Athletic Program coaching football and basketball at Woodbury High School.
Schmitty is from Fairmont High School and graduated from UW La Crosse. He teaches physical education at Woodbury Middle School.
He lives in Woodbury with his wife Carissa and son Braedon (19) and daughter Kaylee (15).
